What the paper knows about you.

The short version. This site collects what you hand it and a little about how it gets read. The desk uses that to reply and to make the paper better. It sells nothing to anyone. The longer version follows.

The slip on the Appointment page asks for your name, email, store or brand, city, department, model, and a note about your season. Sending it does one thing. It reaches Chris Gardner, DMC, who reads it and replies.

The slip is delivered by Formspree, a form service that processes the submission and passes it on. Your details are kept as ordinary business correspondence and are not added to any mailing list. There is no newsletter and nothing to unsubscribe from.

The site uses Google Analytics to understand which pages get read. It sets cookies and reports usage in aggregate, and Google processes that data under its own privacy policy. The desk sees patterns, never a named reader.

You can decline this. Block cookies for this site in your browser, or install Google's opt-out add-on. The paper reads exactly the same either way.

The site is served by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs for security and operations. Those logs include the usual technical details a web server sees, such as an IP address and the pages requested.

You can ask what this practice holds about you, ask for a correction, or ask for it to be deleted. Canadian privacy law backs each of those requests, and the desk honours them without a form fight.

To make a request, use the slip on the Appointment page and open your note with the words privacy request. It gets answered the same business day.

If the law compels a disclosure, it gets disclosed. Nothing else does. Changes to this notice get posted on this page, with the date above updated.
